TESTIMONIALS
I met Travis Freeman first as a character in a story, the basis of which made up the screenplay of 23 Blast, a movie I was hired to direct. His story is compelling, intriguing, but the man I met was far more complex than any two-dimensional character. Lights Out: Living in a Sightless World is a compelling read, and it takes Travis’ journey to redemption through faith and courage to a new, exciting level. I am thrilled that audiences are enjoying 23 Blast, but if you want to know the rest of the story, this book is definitely for you. His town of Corbin, his friends, his teammates, and of course his parents make up the fabric of Travis’ story, and he shows how he was only able to triumph over adversity through the constant support and love of those around him. Lights Out is a book for readers of all ages, and will be a joy to those struggling with any obstacle that life has thrown before them. Travis exhorts us all to go on, keep trying; life is about struggle; a victory over fear and the unknown can only happen when we strive to overcome. It feels as if he has taken us by the hand and led us through the hardest journey imaginable, but he leaves us with a smile. Lights Out also gives the reader an in-depth account of life in a small town for people of faith, how a belief in God’s word can see people through seismic change and turmoil. Travis shows himself to be a marvelous narrator, taking you through each stage of his incredible journey with amazing detail and a great sense of fun. His deep faith and moral courage power this journey, and the reader is taken into the soul of darkness only to see a light shining ahead as Travis shows a path to redemption.
Travis Freeman is phenomenal. His story is heart-warming, inspirational and motivational all at the same time. The opening day message he delivered to the Woodford County staff was a great kick off to our school year.
When you combine an incredibly gripping story with a gifted communicator, the result is an inspired and enthralled audience. That is what took place at our church when Travis Freeman spoke of how God had worked in his life. Can not wait to have him back to encourage and challenge us again!
Travis was such a powerful speaker for our group. We employ many people who have disabilities or other barriers to employment, so his message of perseverance and determination aligns perfectly with Goodwill’s mission to inspire self-confidence, dignity, and capability through the power of work.
Travis is the real deal! He embraced a seemingly insurmountable tragedy and accomplished more on the athletic field and in the classroom than most with perfect vision. His ability to weave his story into a solid bible based message focusing more on Christ than himself is a testament to his desire to glorify God in all he does. To meet Travis and hear his story will inspire you. To listen to his message will motivate and equip you to be all you can be for Christ. Travis was a blessing to us and I know he will be to yours as well.
The story of Travis Freeman embodies what it means to have faith in the midst of adversity. His trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and His love for people was forefront in his message to our church. Through our congregation being able to see 23 Blast and hear him preach, his message brought hope to the brokenhearted and encouraged many in their faith. His friendship embodies the love of Christ and becomes supremely evident in how he relates and speaks with people. We look forward to having him return to New England!
The story that God has written in Travis Freeman’s life is an amazing story! Thankful to call Travis a friend but more thankful to be challenged by him as a Gospel Warrior! Travis is a humble, bold, compassionate, servant of Christ and God is using Him to open the “eyes” of many hearts today!
