Over the past few years I have had several different conversations with friends concerning the Christian cartoon VeggieTales.  In many of these conversations I have stated a problem that I have seen in the cartoons, namely that they teach moralism devoid of the gospel.  Parents frequently view VeggieTales as a cute, fun way to teach their children biblical principles.  They do not see the potential issues in the message the cartoon teaches.  Yes, VeggieTales does teach biblical principles, but it does so apart from a crucified and resurrected messiah.  I just came across this blog post in which the creator of VeggieTales repents of this very sin.  He says that he spent ten years teaching children to be better kids without teaching them the gospel.  Give it a read and let me know what you think.
